Instructor Spotlight Week 2 is in full swing! This next instructor is a brand new face to IEC, and we’re so glad to have him in the classroom this year. This week’s instructor is….
Hi Ryan! So what subject are you teaching this year?
Grounding and Bonding.
What is your current occupation?
Medical Engineer at Wabash Medical.
How did you first get involved with IEC?
My fiance introduced me to Jim Meyer, who suggested I start teaching.

What are you most excited for this academic year?
I am most excited to learn with my students!
What is most rewarding about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that it matters and makes a difference every day.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
The food I couldn’t live without would have to be cheap bar nachos. I love craft beer and trying new restaurants. Some of my hobbies include jammin’ on my guitar, video games, and robotics projects.

Advice for new students this year?
The best advice I can give for new students this year is don’t be afraid to ask questions.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy sleeping and learning new songs in my free time.
Ryan holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and has also been helping develop lab materials for Ivy Tech. He enjoys working with his 3D printer and micro controllers. Ryan sees teaching with the IEC as an opportunity to continue his own professional development as well as his students’. He’s always up for a challenge and is excited to learn as much from his students as they do from him. We’re thrilled to have him on board for this semester.
