May 17th: Annual Dinner Meeting
Contractor Members and Industry Partners are invited to join us for an evening of networking, a lovely dinner, and a short meeting to discuss the state of the chapter. The meeting will be catered and held at the IEC office, and will begin with a social hours from 5:30 to 6:30, followed by dinner and an overview of the chapter’s progress over the year. Members are welcome – and encouraged! – to bring guests as well. Register here to reserve your seat.
June 11th – July 31st: Registration for 2018-2019 Apprenticeship Program
We are already booking appointments for registration for the 2018-2019 school year. If you’re looking to change careers, or if you’ve been in the field and would like to hone your skills into becoming a journeyman, be sure to read up about our program under the “Apprenticeship” tab. June 25th – 29th: 2018 National SkillsUSA Competition
SkillsUSA heads to Louisville, Ky., June 25th-29th, 2018, for the 54th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), a showcase of career and technical education students. More than 16,000 people — including students, teachers and business partners — are expected to participate in the weeklong event. We wish all competitors GOOD LUCK! June 25th-27th: Executive Director Retreat in St. Louis
Our Director and Assistant Director will be attending a national conference with IEC between July 25th-27th. Here they will be brainstorming with other chapters, as well as nationals, on how to better serve our industry, our partners, and our apprentices. This is a great opportunity to gain insight from other parts of the country as well as give fresh perspective on various challenges that IEC faces as a whole.
July 31st: Final day to register for 2018-2019 school year
Any potential apprentice interested in enrolling in the 2018-2019 school year MUST be registered by this date. This includes submitting the $200 deposit, driver’s license, diploma/GED certificate, and completion of the basic reading and math skills assessment.
TBD in August: Sponsor Orientation
Sponsor Orientation will be held in August for all members who have an apprenticeship participating in the program. Here we will discuss the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the students, contractors, and IEC staff.
August 13th: Apprenticeship Program Begins
Classes begin the week of August 13th. The schedule for each year of the program will be announced after registration has ended.
