Now – July 31st: Registration for 2017-2018 Apprenticeship Program

Registration is underway for the 2017-2018 school year. If you’re looking to change careers, or if you’ve been in the field and would like to hone your skills into becoming a journeyman, be sure to read up about our program under the “Apprenticeship” tab. Registration will continue from now until July 31st, with classes beginning the week of August 21st. June 22nd: 2017 Indiana State SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA, and Central Indiana IEC, heads to Louisville, Ky., June 19-23, 2017, for the 53rd annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), a showcase of career and technical education students. More than 16,000 people — including students, teachers and business partners — are expected to participate in the weeklong event. July 20th: IEC National Instructor Conference

This year the theme for the Instructor’s Conference is Path to Mastery. Our very own Blake Behr will be representing Central Indiana IEC as he further develops his skills in instructor training. Blake already makes us incredibly proud, and we are so happy he’s taking advantage of this professional development opportunity! 


July 25th-28th: Executive Director Retreat in Colorado Springs

Our Director and Assistant Director will be attending a national conference with IEC between July 25th-28th. Here they will be brainstorming with other chapters, as well as nationals, on how to better serve our industry, our partners, and our apprentices. This is a great opportunity to gain insight from other parts of the country as well as give fresh perspective on various challenges that IEC faces as a whole. 


July 31st: Final day to register for 2017-2018 school year

Any potential apprentice interested in enrolling in the 2017-2018 school year MUST be registered by this date. This includes submitting the $200 deposit, driver’s license, diploma/GED certificate, and completion of the basic reading and math skills assessment. 




August 17th: Sponsor Orientation

Sponsor Orientation will be held on August 17th for all members who have an apprenticeship participating in the program. Here we will discuss the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the students, contractors, and IEC staff. 


August 21st: Apprenticeship Program Begins

Classes begin the week of August 21st. The schedule for each year of the program will be announced after registration has ended.
